What the client needed.
A payment technology client had an NFC payment device concept and needed a payment receiving mechanism that a bank would support.
Collecting payments on NFC hardware is only half the job: the money has to flow through an authorised bank API, or the product runs into regulatory and integration problems later.
NFC on the device, the bank behind it.
NFC devices capture the payment and hand it to a bank-authorised payment API, under an agreement with the bank.

The decisions that made it work.
- 1
Bank authorisation first
The bank's official API and authorisation requirements were settled before the integration architecture was finalised.
- 2
Agreement before code
An agreement with the bank and its API specification came first, avoiding rework and regulatory risk later.
